The 2023 Kia Niro is back with a complete redesign to offer drivers environmental friendliness, style, and interior space in a small body.
Better Than Ever
“With a bold new look, the 2023 Kia Niro is set to add a dose of cool to its eco-friendly image.” – Drew Dorian, Car and Driver
For the 2023 model year, Kia completely redesigned the Niro. Bigger and with a more dynamic look than its predecessor, the 2023 Niro is comfortable, quiet, roomy, and well-appointed.
The Niro features exterior styling more in line with the design language shown on its larger, electrified siblings. It is sleeker and more modern, infusing inspiration from nature inside while offering an aerodynamic look outside. The 2023 model is 2.5 inches longer than the previous model year, allowing Kia to claim the most interior and cargo space in the class.
A host of driver-assistance features comes standard on the 2023 Kia Niro, ensuring safety for drivers and occupants. Included technologies are forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, along with lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist.
Three Environmentally Friendly Models
The 2023 Kia Niro is once, twice, three times electric with its offerings of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric vehicle (EV) models.
The Niro hybrid is powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine and electric motor that delivers 139 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid powertrain adds a more powerful electric motor to deliver a combined 180 horsepower. The Niro EV delivers 201 horsepower and can travel up to 407 km on a full charge.
Kia only offers front-wheel drive and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission on all Niro models, but no matter which model you choose, you will be treated to a pleasant ride with responsive steering. The Niro’s impressive road manners mean that you can have a nice and relaxing drive to wherever life might take you.
Space and Style
“Kia put in the effort to make the Niro feel fresh and fun even at its affordable price point. The latest generation has much more personality than its predecessor, with a lively design full of angles and patterns. Every control is right in front of the driver and easy to access with a quick input.” – Alex Nishimoto, Edmunds
The sculpted interior of the 2023 Kia Niro offers a contemporary look underscored by a dedication to the environment. Recycled materials and natural fibres are used for the headliner and upholstery, adding another layer of environmental consciousness not always found in hybrids or EVs.
A rotary shift knob replaces the lever-style gear selector found on previous Niro models, further streamlining the interior’s look. A large 10.3-inch infotainment display is expected to be standard across the Niro lineup, running the latest version of Kia’s UVO infotainment system and coming equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Small but Mighty
“The re-imagined Niro is a small car with outsized interior space, better fuel economy than before, almost-luxury technology, and dramatic styling. Based on Kia’s latest styling concept, the exterior displays attitude, as well as more than just a nod to aerodynamics. This forward-looking styling is matched by Niro’s efficient, high-end cabin.” – Jason Allan, KBB
The 2023 Kia Niro offers value without compromise — you can enjoy a fuel-sipping small SUV that can weave in and out of tight spaces while luxuriating in a beautifully designed interior space.
